Improving the Nation’s Health Care Though Systems Engineering

The Center for Organization Transformation is studying whether “systems engineering” can be used to help reduce health care costs and improve patient care.  Engineers are using a combination of mathematical, statistical, and computer modeling in an effort to improve performance.  Some of the areas included in this engineering initiative include overbooking, scheduling, and no-shows.
