Emergency Patients Go Online to Make Appointments
01-30-2011
A growing healthcare trend is allowing patients to make appointments for emergency visits online. InQuickER, a Nashville-based company, offers the service with small fees in addition to emergency room costs. Patients, who must be 18 years or older, can go online to make an appointment for an urgent, non-emergency situation. Patients arrive at the hospital at their specified appointment time and are seen within 15 minutes, otherwise getting their money back. The appointment system is being used at 15 hospitals and urgent care centers in eight states.
